Voyeur
Relaxed at last
In steaming bath,
A pampered sudsy picture.
But ‘Eek!’ I cry,
‘What’s this I spy?’
A sightless, ugly creature!
Between my toes,
A runny nose;
Its most endearing feature!

This is wonderful, simply and truly wonderful! Your magpies are always so ingenious, and very charming :)
ReplyDeleteQuirky, crazy and so much raw fun!
ReplyDeleteAs we sould say in Ireland, 'you are a gas ticket' - its a compliment, funny and brought a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! Ha! So you see things that others don't see too!
ReplyDeleteDear Stafford, I enjoyed this immensely!
Hah! Now I'm stuck with the image of bathing in snot!
ReplyDeleteThat tap is something else!
ReplyDeleteThis one cracks me up! I can imagine that tap scaring anyone half asleep.
ReplyDeleteYou are always so full of fun! You even make me laugh in the sudsy bath! :-)
ReplyDeleteTo the point, and full of fun!
ReplyDeleteI liked that! Thanks for the smile.
ReplyDeleteWell Stafford, you've made me smile and laugh out loud this morning; no mean feat I might add. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLovely piece of writing. :-)
Heehee! I LOVE this!! That gloriously ugly "nose" is a piece of hardware original to WM, built in 1927.
ReplyDeletebetween my toes,
ReplyDeletea running nose....
wow,
love your humor and wit in it...
elegant tale!
Saving this to read to a great-grandchild one day!
ReplyDeleteAh yes. Another version of every woman's life: NO WHERE TO HIDE. very cute!
ReplyDeleteYou obviously had lots of fun with this one. Then passed the laughter and smiles onto the rest of us. I get the feeling you very much enjoy your own company. That's something we should all aim for.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Great. I'm still smiling.
ReplyDeletePerspective.
ReplyDeleteA prayer by 'a piece of hardware' for plumbing:
LORD help me, I am not new.
Help me to be worthy, of my mate.
LORD help me, to be honest.
Ford -- Your writing here took me from flinch to laugh, in very few words. Your playful personal perspective is unique and good. But now we must acknowledge the star. Willow has conjured up an image that inspires such a rich multi-dimensional series of alternating thoughts, that both female and male observers can muse on playful personal perspectives.
Thank you for your writing and to Willow for her imagery here
..
I saw that silly nosy creature and ignored it- while you played on it and wrote such a dear poem! Lovely and it made me laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun. Whimsical like a bubble bath.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun take on Willow's photo.
ReplyDeleteLoved this, so witty and light hearted!
ReplyDeleteThere is a great feel about this writing. It make me wonder, why there is so much romance about voyeurism. And you have colored it with humor!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!! I had to refer back to the picture half way through though just to make sure it 'was' the tap you were writing about ... LOL ... thoroughly enjoyed it, look forward to reading more :o)
ReplyDeletecharming and funny like always
ReplyDeleteOh God Stafford I wrote mine then read yours. Another like-minded response. Yours is far better of course - it has rhyme and rhythm. Mine just dribbles on.
