Magpie 69 or a mere shell of its former self.

History in seashell.

Imagine the world as it was if you can,
when life on this planet so rampant began.
These sea gastropods
predated the gods
and squeezed in between, the emergence of Man.

Tess saw more seashells on the seashore at Magpie Tales.

  3. So, would you say then: the pods, the clods, the gods? Could fit the Bible story with a bit of stretching (if one is a believer of course -(like me;) Like your verse. Cheers

  10. "...when life on this planet so rampant began..." is a great image. I just hope that we don't make it "so rampant END." Excellent poem!

  16. A revolutionary, evolutionary tale, and delightful. I think emergence as a word choice is masterful. Kudos!

  18. Yes, "emergence" is great. The poem is wonderful. I have an impish little wish to teach this to some kid whose parents require Bible study, after which I would encourage the child to speak it loudly next Sunday at church service. :)

  20. Yes, how they made their presence seen and stayed on to this day. Will we see the end of time when they disappear?

  21. Wonderful little bit. Matchless word choice.

Daring here to say: better than the rock gods -- even the Beatles. A humble writer and more should be so well paid
