Puzzled Magpie 54

Torture.
Scourges bestowed on humanity:
Pestilence, pain and profanity.
But nothing that I saw
Was worse than a jigsaw
For self-induced total insanity!

"Never in the field of human endeavour has so much time been spent by so many for so little!" Me.

Temptation provided by Magpie Tales.

  4. Now there are folks who actually stay sane working those puzzles - they say it's good for the aging brain.

  5. I do puzzles only once a year when I go camping with a puzzle fiend! Hilarious as usual...what would we do without you!??

  7. Murphy's Law ... There are always missing pieces. Maybe the dogs eat them, I don't know. Total torture for me. Very funny poem.

  8. Tell me about it. My grandmother loved puzzles and used to make me sit with her and do them. Once we did an enormous one of the south pacific ocean. It was all blue. All of it. I still have nightmares about it.

    I love your wit!

  9. Love finding just the right place, the perfect fit for each piece, leaving us puzzled still to find the other specks left as holes in the picture.

  10. Your quote at the end is exactly how I feel about jigsaw puzzles. Here is a little glimpse into my personal life:
    * Christmas 2009 - my husband's boss gives him a monstrous jigsaw puzzle (a band of leopards in a dense forest) as her gift. He tells her he will enjoy putting it together on his week off in February 2010. He puts the few pieces he has together, along with all the rest, on a board and places it on top of a bookshelf in an unused bedroom upstairs.
    * Feb. 2010 - week of vacation comes and goes, puzzle stays on top of bookshelf.
    * Christmas 2010 - I ask him if he might tear it down and at least store in box. He informs me that his Type 'A' boss actually asks about the puzzle from time-to-time & he doesn't want to lie that he is still working on it.
    * To date - I am considering allowing our two large dogs upstairs and encouraging a riotous day of play in that room.....

  12. Puzzles are funny...you wrack your brains and nerves getting them together, and then you finally do and then....now what?
