Some thought the expenditure rash,
On perfume, so patently flash,
That Judas aghast,
Said "Hey! Not so fast.
Just sell it and give me the cash!"

Yes, unabashed wealth which I too touched upon. I love your take.
ReplyDeleteNimble and smart...
ReplyDeleteAnd then the crafty little fella went on to form his own heavy metal band ! Ha ha , cheers Staff'
ReplyDeleteAh yes! The disciples. They rocked... or was it threw stones? Actually they were the first not to, a point of difference with them and that other band, The Muslims, who still do.
Delete... see you've been reading your Bible again.
ReplyDeleteI was reading the bible before you were born. It has great vocabulary and a wonderful cast of characters for a fairy story. And in the OT, the intrigues and blood and guts conflicts are better than any other whodunnit!
DeleteI recommend it to any aspiring writer.
Big smile!
DeleteHi Helen!
DeleteI started writing dark fiction after reading the Bible. In fact, my very first attempt at a story (a long time ago) had to do with a character who believed the culprit behind certain events was Judas. According to the character, the disciple was not very happy with the part he was destined to play and was looking for payback.
DeleteAnd yes, my goodness, the Bible contains more blood and guts and intrigue that a Sopranos Game of Thrones hybrid!
I have often wondered, as have many others: What was God's plan for Judas?
DeleteSince his famous 30 pieces of silver scene, has has had to endure such a bad rap. Shooting the messenger?
heh heh heh........Judas can't trust some folk. eh...?
ReplyDeleteHee Hee...

ReplyDeleteWell said. You noticed the finer details, too.
ReplyDeleteI really like the first line; the implications. It evokes so many questions: who thought that it was "rash"? What did Judas really think in why?
ReplyDeleteFew words, much yum! :-)
see above.
DeleteA perfectly good way I do believe! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like Judas to me...
ReplyDeleteWell done!
