Great poem, and a unique look at the tomato. Unfortunately, all their juicy lusciousness doesn't tempt me. I'm one of those rare folks who's not a 'mater eater.
Helen, Karen, Bug, Brian, Butterfly, Gypsy, Brigid, Gabrielle, Crusty, Rinkly, Tumblewords, Suz, kathew, Carrie, Dina and Shirley: Thank you so much for the delightful comments, you caused so many endorphins to flow I am safe for at least another week. But I must stress to you all, this is a poem about eating tomatoes!
Linda: whatever made you think this poem was about eating tomatoes!
I think I need to sit in the shade...It's getting a little too hot here. How's the weather in Australia? Isn't it cool and nice now for such hot stuff?
Dear Stafford: So lovely! So temptingly naughty! Who knew a tomato could conjure such rapture? I did after I read your fine verse! Most excellent as ever! Going to keep this one on my tallboy in the boudoir! Thus we all "love apples" aka the once simple tomato!
Bursting with raptureous joy! Throw in a sweet onion(I like a guy with layers.) and I am a happy women. I see tomatoes a little differently now. Thanks Stafford.
This has got to be ,' The Mother of All Tomato Vines '. It grows and grows and grows. The "Jack and the Beanstalk" of Tomato Vines perhaps. * Hey!Disney* make it into little movie, *CAP'N JACK & HIS CHERRY TOMATO CHICKS * eh?
