Dear Edward, my love, you’re an idiot.
I'm amazed you could even consider it.
I’ve set you aglow
In these boots, but you know,
By time they’re unlaced you’ll be over it!
A likely story, you say. Well, for the real thing, go to
Magpie Tales where poets and storytellers gather every Monday, west of the IDL and Sunday in the east.
I thought the boots were a bit much too :)
ReplyDeleteThese boots are meant for walking, yes they do. Nice limerick Stafford!
ReplyDeleteHank
Why bother unlacing ? Nicely done and made me smile.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it the laces are fake ... those boots snap all the way up ... and down. I like the notion of folks living 'east of the sun and west of the moon!' Now isn't that romantic? That International Date Line seems so clinical.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about how long it would take to do up the laces - didn't even consider how long it would take to UNdo them :)
ReplyDeleteI know. I must have these boots.
ReplyDeleteShe seems weary in the photo...it is probably from lacing up those suckers! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, who cares. Just . . take . . them . . off!
ReplyDeleteMr Ed has all the time in the world !
ReplyDeleteHelen has the right idea- either snaps or velcro! And really- they are up in the mountains with no one around-they have a lot of time available!! Anticipation you know!
ReplyDeleteHahaha - I think they could be taken off in such a way as to increase, 'it' not the opposite.
ReplyDeleteClever write!!
ReplyDelete'east of the sun and west of the moon!' ... Helen! That is lovely. Now, Stafford, WHY must the boots come off? Just saying... ;P
