Oh, Romeo dear, don't be mean,
So harsh of you to vent your spleen!
For I cannot join thee,
to make love tonight, see,
There's three hundred rooms I must clean!
A Magpie always keeps its nest in order. Take a look.
PS: As second time visitors may have noted, a poem is never finished; it is merely abandoned.

You're a hoot.
ReplyDeleteThe course of true love never did run smooth!
ReplyDeletealways more work to be done...one reason i def dont need a big house...just enough to tend to juliet....smiles.
ReplyDeleteRomeo could help with the room cleaning, instead of *venting a spleen*! Juliet would appreciate it. A fun write, Stafford. Thank you for the giggles. =D
ReplyDeleteRomeo needs to wisk up those stairs and help a bit= then he can plaY
ReplyDeleteLaughing. Well, yes, there is THAT.
ReplyDeleteYes cut the pretty speech-making Romeo, and give girl a hand! I’ll never view that scene in quite the same ‘light’ again. Very funny.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to get up there quick smart and help out! Otherwise we might switch to another Shakespeare play 'Is this a dagger which I see before me'!
ReplyDeleteYes, and when lady Mc B wailed 'Out damn spot', I thought she was referring to her conscience and how hard it was to wash away the stigma of Duncan's blood, but maybe she was annoyed at how much cleaning was needed to keep the castle spotless!
DeleteAt the end of Bill Shakespeare's version, Romeo and Juliet both die. But, the impact of the young lover's deaths stops a feud between their families.
ReplyDeleteIndeed venting a spleen
!!
Emotional dependence is a dangerous thing!
DeleteCompletely unexpected. Made me laugh out loud. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat is she doing staring mournfully out with that much work to do?
ReplyDeleteSo thats why she doesnt always appear in the phantasmagoria of the night, eh ?
ReplyDeleteDunno about that. Wasn't it Juliet who called into the night; "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo!?"
DeleteAs others have suggested, she wanted him to come and help with the cleaning!
... and aren't you the popular one ~ folks returning for the encore version? And a tad more detail may I say.
ReplyDeleteJust testing to see if you are up for a third visit!
DeleteCould third time be the charm, Romeo?
DeleteHa! I can relate...
ReplyDeleteHow sad, time for play would have to wait. Working can be very exhausting, waiting I mean!
ReplyDeleteHank
Gotta love a poem that has the word spleen!!!

Choosing between a night of love or cleaning?? Definitely a case of OCD!
ReplyDeleteAgree with the above comment!
ReplyDeleteCleaning for me everytime... :o]
