Your well-compressed bit is well-written and really fits the image. Yet I believe we've been called to "tinker" with earth; that the plants and animals and minerals are there for us to use carefully, for God's glory. Without what's called the green revolution in agriculture, I don't think the earth could sustain as many people as it does currently.
