His career in the can… let me rephrase that.
Andy Warhol, young upstart
Made us wonder 'What is art?"
Repeated Monroes,
Soup cans in rows,
Scotch paper, paint, a shopping cart!
Dandy Andy minestrone at Magpie Tales.
Nicely done, Stafford.

ReplyDeletelike your view on this Stafford!
ReplyDeleteI went to the Tait Modern last year with friends and was amazed by the 'Art' there! To challenging for yours truely.
ReplyDeleteI like your post!
Art - or upstart? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Dandy Andy Minestrone soup concept. Campbell corp should have considered it. Alas they didn't have your marketing genius.
ReplyDeleteDear Stafford: Marketing genius and art purveyor on the conveyor belt of stocked shelves, you are making big on Minestrone? Oddly Andy and Howard Hughes both liked chicken noodle and wasnt it Tomato Soup mainly featured. You'd think he'd go with what he knew; maybe not.
ReplyDeleteart in a shopping cart! Well done-clever you!
ReplyDeleteCharming...you summed it all up very nicely...
ReplyDeleteHe was an upstart too! We have to agree though that he really did make us wonder a thing or two. Nicely written.
