All magpies are not black and white.

Today insane, Tomorrow genius.

It was all about colour
wasn’t it Vincent.
Too vivid for your time,
when greyscale minds judged you
and held their purses close!

Thanks Tess, I just love his work. More Van Gough poetry can be found at Magpie Tales.

PS. Blogger is still keeping me from commenting. Wordpress is calling!

  1. And so they did. I wonder what he would make of his fame today?

  4. Van Gogh has always fascinated me too .... the title of your Magpie is quite apt.

P.S. (have you tried using Google Chrome - yes or no?)

  6. I have learned to switch back and forth between Chrome and Firefox. It seems when I can't leave comments on one, I can on the other. IE doesn't work at all for me.

  15. Very nice. I will never forget my visit to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam 12 years ago. Seeing his works in person completely floored me; how the images practically leaped off the canvas.

  19. So very true! Ah but the purses are opened today: Getting filled and overflowing. Poor Vincent might just cut off the other ear if he knew...

  21. Sad but true...wonder who it's happening to in our time.

  22. Mired in madness and religious
    muck, poor vincent was too
beautiful for this world; one of
the few artists who found the
essence of beauty in the loins
    of pain.

  23. Yes, those tight, grayscale minds. Such a pitty.

  24. I too love Van Gogh & not just for his amazing talent but for his strength to cope the best way he knew how. Quite often the gifted (those with amazing talent) are also cursed with a 'busy' mind, just like my eldest son who is one of these such people.
