Fanny and John.
“What did ye do
Wee house of blue?
Cold and lonely
Why you only?
Car space empty
Spaces plenty?
Where… “
Shut up and give me the key, Keats!
I’m freezing my arse off out here!

Funny!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know this scene all too well :)
Very clever and very clever! :o)
ReplyDeleteThat was funny :-)
ReplyDeleteNice one.
Thanks for the laughter, Stafford.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful...
ReplyDeleteso....you and Keats in the car together?
ReplyDeletehar! now- who the heck cleared off the sidewalk but left the steps covered with snow....now there's a mystery!
ReplyDeleteLOL, terrific.
ReplyDeleteCute spin on the prompt, Ford. You, Keats, and the little green house...
ReplyDeleteAs usual I am in stitches with your verse!
ReplyDeleteI apologise for my colour blindness... would have sworn on a stack of colour charts it was blue!
ReplyDeleteSo...
What does it mean
Wee house of green?
(now read on)
After John Keats died, Fanny, a practical woman, married and had three children... Man does not live on poetry alone!
Delightful! :)
ReplyDelete* chuckle *....in shades of turwk.....terqui.....torkey......aquamarine!
ReplyDeleteShort but sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteStafford, are you becoming exhausted by these wintry prompts amidst all this water and humidity? Geography is a very powerful influence. Enjoyed this one snappy and bouncy.
ReplyDeleteI know why the sidewalk's shovelled. It's coz it's American, where they sue your arse off if you don't shovel your patch and then some dillbrain trips and falls (which $$$-hungry dudes no doubt go round looking to do!) Not very poetic, this comment, but there y'are! (Oh, I was born there, so I'm allowed to throw stones.)
ReplyDeleteI like your house green or blue!
ReplyDeleteAn all too rare funny one! And it isn't even Winter for you, is it?
ReplyDeleteGood one!
ReplyDeleteToo clever - love it!
ReplyDeleteOld blue eyes ... nice recovery!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Warm and Whimsical... ironically.
ReplyDeletehahahahha....loved this one!!!
ReplyDeleteFanny and Johnny???!? Too much!! Very clever, Stafford :))
it is a forlorn little place! you made me laugh though, which is always a good thing.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaha - that would be right.
ReplyDeleteStafford,
ReplyDeleteYou may be delighted to know that yesterday morning I locked myself out of the house and garage as well. And the wife was away to Florida.
Write me an appropriate limrick if you please. :)

Outhouse Blues.
ReplyDeleteRel’s wife went to where it was sunny
And left him locked out, silly bunny.
So what did he do?
He moved into the loo,
And spent the whole week on the dunny!
Stafford,
ReplyDeleteThank you,
I knew you'd be up for something witty....
rel
What a great prompt Mel .... Mr. Ray rises to the challenge once again.
ReplyDeleteI meant Rel!
ReplyDeleteCleverly done... love it :)
